• I do recommend also reading the README file to get a further explanation of ATMap.
Especially the Getting Started section.
But please do read the following.
You need to setup some routers in a special manner to let ATMap gather network information.
• IP Tunneling - FastPaths and GatorBoxes
The Shiva FastPath with K-STAR > 8 and the GatorBox do some fake take-*my*-path routing for some networks that it has configured from atalkatab. They do this by pretending that they are directly connected (has zero hops) to those nets - which ATMap interprets as if they were directly connected to all those. You can disable this behavior on the FastPath by turning on "Option 25". On the GatorBox you can't. You can use the command "Connections Showed…" to hide the connections that you don't want to see.
• When moving a single network or router, you can press the command key to move it with the connection lines drawn. This makes it a lot easier to find its way to its adjacent items. (Pressing command-option while moving makes feedback drawing faster but uglier)
• ATMap uses the AppleTalk Phase-2 extensions RTMP Request and
RTMP Route Request to find routers and get their connectivity information. Since different routers answers differently on RTMP requests, some routers may not be found or may not display in a correct manner. Always use the latest available software for your router.
